Brammer has renewed its pledge to the University of Bath’s engineering students after sponsoring its two racing teams – Team Bath Racing and Team Bath Racing Electric – for a second year running.

The partnership has seen Brammer provide sustained technical advice and guidance, as well as a £300 voucher donation which can be used to purchase Roebuck products, a comprehensive range of quality tools and specialist equipment available exclusively through Brammer in the UK. Both teams comprise final year students, who develop single-seat race cars which compete in the international Formula Student race series against universities from across the globe.

As part of the partnership, the engineering students have been able to utilise Brammer’s Mobile Centre of Excellence and its Specialist Tool Demonstration Vehicles, which have been equipped with a range of specific tools to help the team maintain the race cars throughout the season.

The University’s racing teams have had a busy 2016 campaign, with its petrol race team finishing fourth in Class 1 and third in Class 3 for 2016.

Neil Rogers, Regional Managing Director of Brammer, said: “We’re dedicated to nurturing the skills and talents of young engineers, so we’re happy to extend our pledge to this excellent programme. The University of Bath is one of the best engineering institutions in the world, and this is evident in the team’s 2016 performance. Many of our tools are already used throughout its engineering facilities, and we hope our added support can help the team replicate its 2016 performance for the next season.”
